Myrtle Tucker

Myrtle Mae Barbee Tucker, 101 years old, of Locust, NC went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 18, 2021.

Myrtle was born November 10, 1920 in Locust, NC to the late James Carlos Barbee and the late Lula Belle Eudy Barbee.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Brown Tucker; brothers, Roy Barbee, Tommy Barbee and Pete Barbee; as well as sister, Margie Barbee Thomas.

Survivors include daughter, Sharon Hinson (Charlie); son, Ricky Tucker; son, Bill "Billy Wayne" Tucker (Sherry); brother, Charlie Barbee; grandchildren, Anthony Hinson (Jessica), Erin Beck (Brandon), Daniel Hinson (Heather), Casie Bohn (Justin), Haley Watkins (Jake), Sarah Tucker (Jesse), Aaron Byrum (Kristin), Amy Byrum, and Joey Dennis; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Myrtle enjoyed vegetable gardening and canning. She successfully raised three children following the early death of her husband in 1967, and was even able to send all of her children to college.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm  - 1:45pm, Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Carolina Presbyterian Church.  The funeral service to celebrate her life will immediately follow at 2:00pm officiated by Rev. Cory Colravy. Burial will follow at the Locust Presbyterian Church Cemetery at 607 W. Main Street, Locust.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Home Care & Hospice or Carolina Presbyterian Church.
