Nadine Hyatt

Nadine Little Carriker Hyatt, age 84, of Monroe, NC passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at her home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Joe Query, will be on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 11 AM at Antioch Baptist Church, where she had been a member since 1956. She will lie in state for 30 minute prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. At other times the family will be meeting at her home. Mrs. Hyatt was born in Union County on October 25, 1928, to the late Marcus and Tressie Drake Little. After her mother’s death in 1930, she was adopted by Elijah and Jennie Trull Carriker. Mrs. Hyatt grew up in Mint Hill and graduated from Bain High School in 1945. Retired from Union County DSS, she previously worked with Union County Agricultural Extension Service. Mrs. Hyatt is survived by sons, Don Hyatt and wife Pat of Charlotte, Ron Hyatt and wife Ruth of Charlotte, Paul Hyatt and wife Karen of Monroe, Kevin Hyatt and wife Pam of Monroe; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvia Lee Hyatt, in 1997; brothers Odell little in 1992, Harold Little in 2004, and Malcom Little in 2005.
