Nancy Burleson

Nancy Carol Poplin Burleson, 81 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015 at Woodhaven Court in Albemarle.

Nancy was born October 12, 1933 in Stanly County to the late Crawford "Cato" McRae Poplin and the late Wayne Layton Poplin. She was also preceded in death by husband, Alexander "Sandy" P. Burleson.

The family will receive friends from 11:30am to 1pm on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. At other times, the family will gather at the home of daughter, Trena Purvis. The funeral service will follow at 1pm in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Ronnie Nicholson. The burial will be at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.

She is survived by her son, Sandy "Puncho" McRae Burleson of Albemarle; daughter, Trena Burleson Purvis and husband David of Albemarle; sisters, Johnnie Adcock of Snellville, GA and Marion "Biddie" Wilhoit of Albemarle; grandchildren, Chad Burleson, Mark Purvis, Mandi Purvis; and great-grandchildren, Shilon and Brylen.
