Nancy Harwood

Nancy Jo Harwood, 75 years of age, of Albemarle passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at Greenville Place in Greenville, SC.

Mrs. Harwood was born March 2, 1941 in Marion, Virginia to the late Joseph Oliver Ivester and the late Hazel Burress Ivester. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Emsley Harwood.

Nancy Jo was a librarian at West Albemarle Elementary School for many years. She was a Sunday School Teacher and a handbell ringer at First Baptist Church of Albemarle. Her interests included planning vacations, traveling and reading.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Albemarle at 11:00 AM officiated by Rev. Harold McDonald and Rev. Andy Jung. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park in Albemarle.

Survivors include daughter, Julie Mitchell and husband Paul of Simpsonville, SC; son, Greg Harwood and wife Zetty of Greenville, SC; and granddaughters, Hannah Mitchell and Sarah Mitchell both of Simpsonville, SC.
