Nancy Long

Nancy Hubbard Long, 82, of Monroe, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 25, 2017.

Nancy was born January 30, 1935 in Mecklenburg County to the late John Frank Hubbard and Katherine Fisher Hubbard. She was also preceded in death by husband, Hazel Furman Long; her son, Kent Furman Long; and sisters, Edith Williams and Helen Price; and brothers, Wade, Donnie, Furman, Ken, and Douglas Hubbard.

Nancy retired from Bell South after 31 years of service and was a friend to all, but most importantly her life was about loving her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them. She will be long remembered for her giving and caring ways.

She leaves behind to treasure her memory her devoted and loving grandchildren, Gage Long, Callie Long and Lance Gower; and daughter in law, Gina (Long) Dulin of Indian Trail. Also surviving her are her brothers, Parks Hubbard (Myrna) of Mount Ulla, Gene Hubbard of Mooresville and Harold Hubbard (Sharon) of Huntersville; sisters, Faye Hubbard Cain (Marty) of Huntersville, Dorothy Hubbard Thompson (Bill) of China Grove, and Rachel Hubbard Knox of Mooresville; and numerous nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly.

The family would like to give special thanks to all of the caring staff at Woodridge Assisted Living in Monroe and Hospice of Union who lovingly cared for and showed great compassion to Nancy on her final journey to her heavenly home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Evergreen Cemetery, 4426 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC with Rev. Steven Stinson officiating.

We ask that memorials may be made to Hospice of Union, 700 West Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.

Nancy will forever be missed by her loving and devoted family and many dear friends. May God grant her eternal rest.
