Naomi Huneycutt Clontz, 83, of Stanfield, went to her eternal home Wednesday, November 22, 2017.
Naomi was born April 13, 1934 in Stanly County, to the late Ralph and Esther Huneycutt. She was also preceded in death by three brothers Sherwin, Allen and Jerry Huneycutt.
Naomi married her high school sweetheart, Johnnie, on April 21, 1951, and was a lifetime member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, Stanfield. She played the organ for many years, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. For almost 2 decades, Naomi and Johnnie ministered with their music, singing and playing for residents of Stanly and Cabarrus County nursing homes, nutrition sites and churches, traveling with both the Hinson and the Old House Bands. .
Survivors include husband of 66 years, Johnnie Clontz; son, Reggie Clontz; daughter, Debbie Little; son, Kenneth Clontz; grandchildren, Dustin (Alison) Clontz and Brian (Candice) Clontz; four great-grandchildren, Karlee and Brody Clontz, and McKenzie and Mason Clontz.
The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 pm, Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home, 13575 Broadway Ave., Midland. The funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Philadelphia Baptist Church, 12568 Philadelphia Church Rd, Stanfield, officiated by Rev. Glenn Johnson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of Woodhaven Court, Albemarle, and Community Hospice for their compassionate care during the last few months.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and Philadelphia Baptist Church.
