Naomi Crayton Eudy, 88, of Transitional Health Services of Kannapolis, formerly of 220 Bishop Lane, Concord, went to her heavenly home June 3, 2009. She was born February 5 1921, in Cabarrus County to the late Richard A. Crayton and Halie Lambert Crayton. Mrs. Eudy worked at Hugh Grey Hosiery and Penn-Carol Hosiery during her earlier years and was a housemother at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital School of Nursing from 1970 until her retirement in 1981. During her retirement, as long as she was able, she loved ministering to the sick and nursing home residents. She loved making crafts and giving them away. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Eudy; her son, Gary Albert Eudy; and a grandson, Steven Stancil. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Jess and Jack Crayton; and five sisters, Autie Ross, Gertie McClellan, Beatrice Hinson, Gladys Burris, and Mary Lou Cline. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Martin Stancil of Kannapolis, NC; one grandson, Mark Stancil and wife Cindy, of Marietta, Georgia; one granddaughter, Amy Cromartie and husband Dan, of Davidson, NC. She had four great grandchildren who called her âGreatâ and were the joy of her life: Haley and Reagan Stancil and Savannah and Steven Cromartie. Mrs. Eudy had one sister, Mrs. Louise Burris of Concord and her former daughter-in-law Beverly Eudy Sossamon and her husband, Bobby Sossamon, also of Concord. Mrs. Eudy is also survived by three half-sisters, Aleene Lambert of Locust; Margie Harkey and Virginia Linker of Mt. Pleasant; and three half-brothers, Richard and Johinne Crayton of Concord; and Charlie Crayton of Rockwell. Services will be held Friday, June 5, 2009 at 2:00pm at Mission Baptist Church, Locust, where she was a lifetime member. Dr. Ronny Russell will officiate, assisted by Rev. Darrell Coble. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord, Thursday, June 4 from 6:00-8:00pm. At other times they will be at the home of her daughter, Joyce Stancil, 2145 Sheffield Dr., Kannapolis, NC.
