Nathan Efird

Nathan Etwell Efird, age 83, of Albemarle, N.C., died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, N.C. Efird was Owner and Operator of Efird Grocery Store and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. . Born April 7, 1926 in Stanly County, he was the son of the late Cromer Efird and the late Rosetta (Whitley) Efird. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ruth (Simpson) Efird, who passed away in 1997. He is survived by his Son-Harold Efird and wife Brenda of New London, N.C. Son-Steve Allen Efird and wife Teresa of Albemarle, N.C. Sister-Jewell E. Thompson of Albemarle, N.C. Sister-Joan E. Talbert of Albemarle, N.C. Sister-Ruth Evelyn Poplin of Albemarle, N.C. Sister-Mary Lovena Burris of Albemarle, N.C. Grandchildren-Stephania Efird, Amanda Efird and Lisa Efird. Arrangements are being handled by Hartsell Funeral Home - Albemarle, P. O. Box 7, Albemarle, N.C., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 30, 2009. Funeral service will be at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel - Albemarle at 1:00 PM Friday, July 31, 2009 , Rev. Scott Shoffner officiating. Interment will be at Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle, N.C.
