Nella Mae Linker

Nella Mae Linker, 75, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Atrium Health Pineville in Charlotte.

Mrs. Linker was born September 28, 1948, in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Wyatt Reed Derrick and the late Rose Marie Price Derrick.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Alex Linker.

Nella was very proud of her career, with her master’s in nursing. Her career path led her to being director of nursing for 20 years with Mecklenburg County Health Department, head nurse for Mecklenburg County Jail, nurse at Cabarrus County jail and Cabarrus County health department and retired as a case manager for Atrium.

The love for her family and friends was profound. She enjoyed every minute of life, traveling with family and friends and spending every free minute with Kelsey and Kyle. The loves of her life along with her two dogs Amiee and Forest and the Parrot Rhett.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm on Sunday, December 17th, 2023, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg, 12115 University City Blvd. Harrisburg, NC 28075.

Survivors include son, Ryan (Carlyn) Linker of Harrisburg, NC, granddaughter, Kelsey Linker of Concord, grandson, Kyle Linker of Wilmington, NC, twin sister Vella and her two sons, Brian and Kenny.
