Nellie Pearl Albright Clontz, "Nanny", 84 years of age, of Indian Trail, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Clontz was born August 24, 1929 in Rowan County to the late Jesse Thomas Albright and Charity Marie Dobbins Albright. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Banks Hernon Clontz; infant son, David; and sister, Jean Albright.

She was a nurse with Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte as a night supervisor with 38 years of service. Nanny was well known for her pine needle baskets and needlework. She was truly kind, selfless, and dedicated to serving others.

The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland on Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 6 until 8 pm. The funeral service will be at the Legacy Campus of Hopewell Baptist Church, 420 Hopewell Church Rd., Monroe on Sunday, July 6th at 3 pm, officiated by Rev. Dr. Lee Pigg and Rev. Hank Parker. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her children; Cindy Furr of Monroe, Kaye Morse of Indian Trail, Mike Clontz and wife Melvie of Indian Trail, Tia McKnight and husband Randy of Indian Trail; nine grandchildren, Mark Furr (Amy), Brandy Robinson (Tim), Brian Morse (Jessica), Leslie Morse, Melissa Morse, Taylor Clontz (Chanda), Benjamin Tipp, Beth Furr, Shelly Clontz; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, Eloise McLean, Betty James, and Harry Albright.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Delorce Tomberlin and Patty Griffin for helping us with her care.
