Nellie Rushing

Nellie Margie Stewart Rushing, 89, of Marshville, NC, passed away February 5, 2013 at the Hospice House in Monroe, NC. Mrs. Rushing was born April 5, 1923 in Union County to the late Brooks Stewart and Margie Carpenter Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Eugene Franklin Rushing; son, Edward Eugene Rushing; daughter, Janice Nell Rushing; brothers, John Benton Stewart and Gene Stewart; her sisters, Evelyn Simpson, Maxine Norwood; and grandson, Stuart Gene Little. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Marshville, NC. The graveside service will begin at 2:00, Friday, February 8, 2013 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by Pastor John Miller. The family will receive friends after the service. At other times, the family will meet at the home of her daughter, Ellen, 8330 Rocky River Road, Oakboro. Survivors include her daughter, Ellen R. Little and husband, Doug, of Oakboro; her sister Marie Furr; a special daughter, Peg Wylie; grandchildren Nevin Rushing, Steve Little and Jennifer L. Morrow; and great grandchildren, Bailee and Blair Little and River Morrow. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 7002 Pleasant Hill Church Road, Marshville, NC 28103.
