Nellie Whitley

Nellie Mae H. Whitley, 81 years of age, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Mrs. Whitley was born May 18, 1934 in Moore County to the late Claude Christopher Hinson and Pauline Vivian Hinson. She was also preceded in death by her son, Danny Lynn Whitley and her four brothers.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Locust Baptist Church, Locust. The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm at Locust Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Tommy Ross and Rev. Darrell Nance. Burial will follow at Locust Baptist Church cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Arlie Carol Whitley; her daughter, Brenda Whitley Smith and Marvin; her son, Carol Lee Whitley and Janie Almond Whitley; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister and two brothers.

Friends and family are welcome to gather at the home of Brenda and Marvin Smith.
