Obadiah Morgan

Obadiah Kemp Morgan, 82 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Kemp was born February 16, 1933 in Stanly County to the late Judge Woodrow Morgan, Sr. and the late Menty Elvie Little Morgan. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Bill Stamey.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Mark Little. The burial will follow at Oakboro Cemetery, 1397 North Main Street, Oakboro.

He is survived by his siblings, Ray Morgan and wife Betty of Oakboro, Tom Morgan and wife Annabelle of Oakboro, Audrey Darlene Stamey of Charlotte, Dan Morgan of Albemarle, Judge W. Morgan, Jr. and wife Joanna of Oakboro; nephews, Chip Morgan, Todd Morgan and wife Jeannie, Wesley Morgan and wife Missy, Adam Morgan and wife Liz, J.W. III and wife Karen; nieces, Cathy Troublefield, Angie Cline and husband Darrell, Donna Moore and husband Larry; great nephews, Davey and Ina Troublefield, Davis Moore, Josh, Trevor, Cole, Jonah, and Jesse Morgan; great nieces, Charity Mangan and husband Tim, Morgan Morrison, Emily Moore; Anna, Daisy, and Lauren Morgan.

Kemp enjoyed running his saw mill and flying his plane. He loved farming, his cows, and his two dogs, Mallie and Abby. He retired from ALCOA after 20 years of service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors at CMC-Northeast, Hospice of Cabarrus County and Dr. Nalin Mehta, and all of the nurses at CMC and Tucker Hospice House.
