Olin Huneycutt

Mr. Olin Crawford Huneycutt, 83 years of age, of Norwood, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.

Olin was born November 25, 1931 in Stanly County to the late Clarence Grant Huneycutt and the late Ruth Elizabeth Huneycutt.
He was also preceded in death by wife of 60 years, Ruth Huneycutt.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Friday at 11:00 am at Oakboro United Methodist Church and will be officiated by Rev. Eugene Moore and Rev. Ron Huneycutt. Burial will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory.

Olin served his country in the United States Air Force as an aviation mechanic. He retired from Union Carbide in Charlotte after over 25 years as a supervisor. He was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed yardwork and spending time with his family.

Survivors include three daughters, Angie (John) Earnhardt of Albemarle, Vicky Huneycutt of Norwood, and Tammy Thomas of Oakboro; two brothers, Dean Huneycutt of Oakboro, and Larry Huneycutt of Wilkesboro, NC; granddaughter, Adrienne (Kevin) Averette of Huntersville, grandson, Ryan (Courtney) Thomas of Stanfield, granddaughter, Kelly (Charlie) Lentz of Locust, granddaughter, Abby Thomas of Matthews; and two great grandchildren, Nara Thomas and Ella Averette.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Lefler and his office and also to the staff at Trinity Place for their excellent care.
