Onnie Redmon

Onnie Jones Redmon, 99 years of age, of Norwood, NC passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Trinity Place in Albemarle, NC. Onnie was born March 24, 1915 in Rutherford County, Tennessee to the late Artemus Leslie Jones and the late Bertha Moon Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Joe Jordan Redmon; daughter, Barbara Redmon Dennis; grandson, Joe Jarrell; great-granddaughter, Autumn Dennis. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Albemarle Church of Christ on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. The memorial service will follow at 6:30 PM in the church sanctuary officiated by Matthew Carter. The family will also receive friends at the Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill, TN from 2 PM to 3 PM on Saturday, June 7, 2014. The funeral service will follow in the chapel. The burial will be at the Triune Cemetery in Triune, Tennessee. She is survived by her sons, Larry Jones Redmon and wife Alice, and Jessie Jordan "JJ" Redmon and wife Sharon; son-in-law, Everett Dennis; grandchildren, Randi Fitzgerald, Julia Poplin, Walter Dennis, Leslie Dennis, Frank Dennis, Connie Russell, Stephanae Bruno, and Alisha Cyrus; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Onnie was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ. Memorials may be made to Albemarle Church of Christ c/o Building Fund, 24790 US 52 Hwy South, Albemarle, NC 28001.
