Onnis Foster

Onnis O'Neill Shankle Foster, 88 years of age, of Clemmons, formerly of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Trinity Elms Assisted Living in Clemmons.

Mrs. Foster was born April 22, 1927 in North Carolina to the late Douglas Roseman Shankle and the late Addie Shankle.
She was also preceded in death by husband, Thomas Eugene Foster, sister, Erlene Hathcock, brother, Willie "Doc" Douglas Shankle.

Mrs. Foster joined North Carolina Savings and Loan in 1955. Over the years she held several positions in the mortgage loan department primarily as an escrow specialist and retired after 34 years of service. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Pepsi bowling team, and she also enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening. She was also a lifelong member of Anderson Grove Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Anderson Grove Baptist Church from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm . The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm, officiated by Matthew Rummage. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.

Survivors include daughters, Teresa (Billy) Poindexter of Maiden, NC and Cecelia (Glenn) Moore of Lewisville, NC; four grandchildren, Kristen Sigmon, Matthew Rummage, Meredith Barth, and Shannon Moore; eight great-grandchildren,.
