Ora Pharr

One day after her 97th birthday, Ora Nadine Thomason Pharr passed peacefully with sun shining on her face Monday, March 16, 2015 at St. Andrews Living Center in Concord.

Mrs. Pharr was born March 15, 1918 to the late John Washington Thomason and the late Sally Fisher Thomason. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by husband, John Scott Pharr, Sr.; daughter, Pru Baggs, great grandchild, Cade Braswell, and five brothers and one sister.

The family will receive friends at Rocky River Presbyterian Church, 7940 Rocky River Rd, Concord, NC on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 2:00pm until 3:00pm. The funeral service will follow at Rocky River Presbyterian Church on Sunday at 3:00pm. Rev. Eleanor Norman will officiate. Burial will be held at Rocky River Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Ora leaves behind three sons, John S. Pharr, Jr. and wife Robyn of Buffalo, NY, Tom Pharr and wife Dottie of Bennettsville, SC and Robert Pharr and wife Janet of Clayton, NC; son-in-law, Bill Baggs of Concord; eight grandchildren, John "Pepper" Pharr, III, Whittaker "Duke" Pharr, Scott Pharr, Sloane Pharr, Michelle Phillips, Sarah Froden, Shannon Braswell, Bill Baggs, Jr., Audrey Pharr, Madison Pharr, and Yorke Pharr; great grandchildren, Will Baggs, Macy Baggs, Paul and Piper Phillips, Alec, Hunter, and Elizabeth Braswell.

She blessed all who knew her with her generosity, kindness, and deep appreciation for all of God's gifts. Ora spent her life revering God and doing his work, while a member of Rocky River Presbyterian Church for more than 75 years. She was a graduate of Catawba College and was a retired Cabarrus County school teacher. Mrs. Pharr was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
