Oscar "Butch" Bernard Critz, Jr., 71 years of age, of Kannapolis, NC passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Butch was born December 2, 1945 in Concord, NC to the late Oscar Bernard Critz Sr. and the late Vera Williams Critz.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Linda E. Critz of Kannapolis, NC; his son Oscar B. "Trey" Critz III and wife Dawn; his daughter; as well as three grandchildren.
Butch was very involved in NASCAR in the 1980's with Richard Petty and Ron Bouchard. He proudly served his country in the National Guard and loved to talk about the military, guns, ammo, and sports cars. Butch enjoyed talking with people and sharing his view of the world. He took great pride in his work at Cannon Mills and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Harmony Baptist Church, 5361 Tom Query Road, Harrisburg, NC 28075.
