Oscar Rivera

Oscar Rivera, 62, of Harrisburg, NC, passed away on March 25, 2022, in Concord, NC.

He was born on May 9, 1959, to Victoriano and Modesta Rivera in the Bronx, NY. Oscar started his career at TIAA “Teachers Insurance & Annuity Association” and transitioned into working as an executive chauffeur for many years which brought much joy into his life.

Oscar is survived by his loving spouse of 34 years, Phyllis Rivera, and his children Danielle and Victoria Rivera; mother, Modesta Rivera; four siblings, Higinio, Edward, Adela, and Nereida Rivera; Sister-in-laws, Donna Allocco and Dolores Siesto; Brother-in-law, Joseph Siesto; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; childhood friends, Raymond and Maria Bermudez, Randy Garcia, Albert Colon, and Annette Rivera; close extended family, the Lassandro’s and the Grasso’s; close family Friends, David Leindecker and Justin Walker; and his extended work family and lovingly neighbors. The family would also like to recognize longtime friends and neighbors, the Rivero’s, for the everlasting friendship and support they have shown Oscar over the years.

Oscar was preceded in death by his father, Victoriano Rivera, and mother and father-in-law, Dolores and Emilio Allocco.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 1, 2022, 6:00 pm - 8:15 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home, Harrisburg, NC with a Rosary service to follow.   A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 1:00 pm, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church - Charlotte, NC, with Father Raymond Ekosse officiating.
