Pamela “Carol” Smith Carrick, of Albemarle, met her heavenly father on Thursday, November 23, 2023, on Thanksgiving Day as this was also Carol’s birthday. Carol was the victim of a vehicle accident located at Griffin Green Boulevard and Buster Road, West of Oakboro, caused by an impaired driver.

 

Carol was born November 23, 1970, in Concord, NC to the late Bobby Carl Smith and Brenda Morgan Smith. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Bobby Allan Smith, Sr.

 

Carol was an Administrative Assistant previously employed by Davidson County Community College in Lexington, NC. Carol was currently employed by Blue Bay Seafood Restaurant in Albemarle, and worked with Jack MacDonald who was a second father to Carol as she was employed by his business located in Denton NC. Carol had many clients in Uwharrie Point Community Association who loved Carol as she was a great asset to their family.

 

Carol is survived by her son Seth Carrick who held her heart, and husband, Johnny Carrick; sisters Melody Smith, Cindy Mills, and brother Mike Smith; nieces and nephews, Heather Cope, Mandy Williamson, Jared Smith, Joseph Smith, Candice Smith, Bobby Allen Smith Jr., Alex Smith, Nicholas Smith, Matthew Smith, Bobby Manning, Brenda Shaffer, and Laura Smith. She is also survived by aunts and uncles; Kathryn Reames, Don Morgan, JoAnn Morton; and great nieces and nephews whom Carol loved dearly.

 

Carol attended Endy Elementary School and graduated from West Stanly High School, where she continued her education at Davidson-Davie Community College in Lexington, and Stanly Community College in Albemarle. Carol grew up as a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church in Albemarle. Carol also was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Lexington where she was a beloved Sunday School Teacher and taught bible school lessons. Carol’s favorite bible verse, 1 Corinthians 16:14 “Let all that you do be done in love”.

 

Carol will be remembered for the heartfelt love that she shared with her friends and family. She truly loved each of them and if you knew Carol, you knew she was truly a beautiful soul and a child of God. Carol’s friendship blossomed with the people around her as her smile lit up the room and was not only beautiful but contagious. The greatest gift of all, so dear to her heart, is her son, Seth.

 

The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 4:00 pm at Mountain View Baptist Church located at 407 Mountain View Church Road, Lexington NC 27292. The service will be officiated by Rev. Tim L. Miller. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.

You will forever be loved my friend as I cherish every memory we had growing up as childhood friends. You are truly an angel.
