Patry Austin

Patry Leola Tucker Austin, age 95 of 16247 Buster Rd, Oakboro, NC passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Stanly Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Austin was born August 12, 1914 in Stanly County to the late John Arthur Tucker and Ida Mae Morgan Tucker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd James Austin deceased in 1983 and brothers, Clonnie, Jake, and Curtis Tucker; sisters, Essie Smith, Auta Bea and Addie Lee Tucker and Ollie T. Thomas; son-in-law, Bernard Barbee; daughter in law, BettyAustin; grandson, David Kennedy. She is survived by sons, Sherrill Wayne Austin and wife Mary Jean of Norwood and Ned Michael Austin and wife Nancy of Oakboro, NC; daughters, Doris A. Kennedy and husband Olan of Garden City, S.C., Sylvia A. Whitley and husband Roy of Oakboro and Patsy A. Barbee of Oakboro; brother, Morgan Tucker of Charlotte; grandchildren, Tim and Greg Whitley, Jim Kennedy, Chad Austin, Brett Barbee, Amber Barbee Diss, Ted and Darrell Mauldin, 18 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, May 29, 2010 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Oakboro. Funeral service will be Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Mineral Springs Baptist Church, Rev. Keith Walters and Rev. Rick Burris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are, Tim and Greg Whitley, Chad Austin, Brett Barbee, Jim Kennedy, Matthew Austin, and Ben and Cameron Whitley. Memorials may be made to Mineral Springs Senior Citizens Club, 4694 Hwy 205, Oakboro, NC 28129 or Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St. Albemarle, NC 28001. The family will meet at the home, 16247Buster Rd, Oakboro, NC 28129.
