Pattie Burris

Pattie Amanda Tucker Burris, 86, of Locust, NC passed away August 21, 2013 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Pattie was born July 27, 1927 in Stanly County to the late Paul Elam Tucker and Flora Frances Teeter Tucker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Jay Ted Burris, in May, 2013; sisters, Nora Javee Tucker Casico, Anniebelle Lee Tucker Rape, Marion Helen Tucker Luther, Bonnie Geraldine Tucker Austin; and brother, Charles Hubert Tucker. The family will receive friends from 3 - 4 p.m., Sunday, August 25, 2013, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Dr. Kinney Wallace officiating. The burial will follow in Locust Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 607 W. Main St., Locust, NC 28097. At other times, the family will meet at the home of their daughter, Linda Barbee, 320 Springview Dr., Locust, NC. Survivors include daughter Linda Barbee and husband Rex of Locust; grandson, Chad Whitley and wife Jodi; great-granddaughter Kenzie; great-grandson Blake, all of Harrisburg; and brother-in-law Lloyd Burris and wife Shirley of Winston-Salem, NC. Mrs. Burris was employed by Cannon Mills, as a textile fixer-foreman and machine auditor in the wash cloth department for many years. She loved sitting outside with her husband watching and talking to all the folks walking and running on the sidewalk. She loved her vegetable garden, flowers, and her Lilly pool with lots of goldfish as well. She just loved the outdoors. Memorials may be made to Locust Presbyterian Church, 607 W.
