Paul Joseph Brafford, also known as "Red" or "Uncle Two," passed away on May 22, 2024, at the age of 68. Born on February 27, 1956, in Charlotte, NC, he was the beloved son of the late Ralph Edward and the late Marion Patricia Hartl Brafford.
Paul leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He is survived by his sons, Jason Brafford of Harrisburg and Ryan Brafford of Indian Trail; daughters Crysten Harwood of Mt. Pleasant and Sarah Lewis of Mt. Pleasant; eight cherished grandchildren, Maddox, Landon, Alex, Oliver, Teaguen, Hayes, Marlee, and Sloan; and siblings, Ralph E. Brafford of Mooresville, Cindy Brafford May of Charlotte, and Leslie Brafford of Stallings. His warm heart and compassionate nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Paul, most recently residing in Sherrills Ford, NC, was known for his vibrant personality and diverse interests. He had a passion for golf, riding his motorcycle, camping and fishing. In his spare time, he enjoyed indulging in Indian food and listening to the music of his favorite band, Styx. Paul had an extensive collection of Harley Coins from around the world and was proud to know the words to every Elvis song. A man of many talents, Paul managed and helped build a multi-store safety shoe business. He trained other store managers for Red Wing Shoes. Several of his new product ideas and concepts were adopted by Red Wing over the years and are still generating sales to this day. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was known for his generosity. However, he modestly admitted that he was a jack of all trades, unless it had an engine. Paul found solace and joy in traveling to various beaches, which he considered his favorite places in the world. He also cherished watching the Andy Griffith Show and cheering on his favorite sports teams, especially the Carolina Panthers.
