Paul Cook

Paul Bangle Cook, 87, of Concord, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Brian Center in Concord.

Paul was born March 12, 1933 in Concord to the late Ervin Cook and the late Bessie Cook.
He was also preceded in death by wife, Frances Strickland Cook; brother, Ervin Cook; sisters, Ruth Collins and Hazel Cleaver; and son-in-law, Sam Helms.

Paul retired after 20 years of services as a US Postal Carrier. He served his country in the US Army as a mechanic in Fairbanks, Alaska. He received National Service and Good Conduct Medals. Paul was a loyal and devoted husband to his wife, Frances, for 53 years. Paul will be remembered for how much he loved his children and grandchildren. He attended First Foursquare Church, and after retirement Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the church choir and serving in the church. Paul was a living example of Christ to others. He loved to travel across the United States with friends and family. Some of his favorite places were the Outer Banks and Lake Tillery, where he would go fishing with his friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Tim Newton. Following the service, Paul will be laid to rest with military honors at Oakwood Cemetery, 421 Church Street, Concord.  The funeral will be Webcast Live

Survivors include daughter, Debra Cook of Concord, NC, son, Paul F. Cook (Freda), four grandchildren; Nathanael Torrence(Josie), Amber Meadows(Richard), Emily Humpton (Dave) and Heather Cook and great grand children; Zayne, Cayden, Addyson Humpton,Aubrie, Kyler, Rylan Meadows
