Paul Ekman

Paul Ekman, age 68 of Harrisburg, NC, passed away February 24th, 2018 at Northeast Medical Center in Concord NC.

He was born in Omaha, NE, March 2nd, 1949, son of the late Clarence and Mila (Schultz) Ekman. Paul was a Vietnam Veteran while serving in the U.S. Navy.  He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was passionate about his work. In his lifetime he enjoyed spending time and telling stories to his granddaughters, public speaking and humorous speeches as a member of Toastmasters, sailing, hiking, biking, and trading cars.

Paul is survived by his former wife Jan Ekman, children Jeremy (Pattie) Ekman, Emilee (Jed) Beck, Brother Bruce (Judi) Ekman, Grandchildren Addie and Carlee Beck, nieces and nephews, and many friends.

The family would like to thank Northeast Medical Center ICU staff for their excellent compassionate care. In lieu of flowers and in Paul’s spirit, the family requests “paying it forward”, as you desire.

The memorial service will be held Feb 28th, 2018 at 6:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home, 12115 University City Blvd, Harrisburg, NC  28075
