Paul Ross

Paul Whitley "Popple" Ross, 77 years of age, of Albemarle and Holden Beach, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord. Paul was born March 6, 1936 in Stanly County to the late Walter Lee Ross and Vernia Elizabeth Whitley Ross. He was also preceded in death by brother, Richard Ross. The funeral service officiated by Dr. Wayne Bennett and Dr. Phillip Hunter will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial will follow at 4:00 pm at New London Cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Emma Smith Ross of Albemarle; son, Andy Ross and wife, Cathy of Albemarle; daughter, Amy Polk and husband, Steven of Monroe; grandchildren, Bethany and Amanda Ross, Joshua Hudson and wife, Whitney; Lauren Hudson and companion, Adam Frick; step grandsons, Steven and Brandon Polk; three great granddaughters; brothers, William Lee Ross of Cornelius, John Ross of Matthews and Tommy Ross of New London; sisters, Etrulia Frick of Charlotte and Mary Elizabeth Burgess of Albemarle. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Burial Fund, 17236 Frog Pond Road, Oakboro, NC 28129. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Ross family.
