Pearlie Whitley

Pearlie Archie Whitley, 73, of Albemarle, NC, passed away August 19, 2011, in Stanly Regional Hospital of Albemarle. Mr. Whitley was born November 12, 1937 in Cabarrus County. He was preceded in death by his father, Pearl Alvin Whitley, and mother, Myrtle Burris Whitley. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired from Albemarle Spinning. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Monday, August 22, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Albemarle, officiated by Rev. Clinton Efird. At other times, the family will meet at the home of his daughter, Kitty Hatley, at 31965 Old Herlocker Road in Albemarle. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Betty Ruth Morton Whitley, of the home; daughters, Jane Smith and husband, Benny, of Oakboro, Kitty Hatley and husband, Billy, of Albemarle, and Kathy Hatley and husband, Ronnie, of Albemarle; grandchildren, Mandy Smith Thompson, Josh Hatley, Rob Hatley, and Jake Hatley; and sister, Vivian Almond.
