Pedro Fequiere, Sr. 64 of Concord, NC passed away Friday, June 10th, 2022, at his home in Concord surrounded by his loving family while battling pancreatic cancer.
Pedro Fequiere, Sr. was born May 4th, 1958, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to the late Clelie and Darius Fequiere. He was preceded in death by Dominique Fequiere, Aniaca Fequiere and Paulette Saintil (Fequiere).
Pedro Sr. is survived by his wife, Guerta Menard-Fequiere of Concord, NC; and their children Darius (Fequiere), Pedro Jr. (Fequiere), Guerline (Menard), Isabelle (grandchild), Phil (Menard), and Evans (Menard). His siblings include Fritz Fequiere, Gabriel Fequiere, Valentine Ferere, Margaret Fequiere-Thompson, and Marie (Therese) Merove. His nieces and nephews include Adrien Saintil, Peguy Middleton, Doris Saintil, Paul Saintil, Roberto Lodescar, Lawrence Lodescar, Valerie Fequiere, Fritzi Fequiere, Gabriel Fequiere Jr., Alain Fequiere, Roxanne Spickert, Kevin Ferere (Jalen, Jamir, and Jamias Ferere), Richard Ferere, Andrew Ferere, Matthew Ferere, Anayika Thompson, Geraldine and Jensen Toussaint Merove.
In Haiti, he attended Ecole Jean Francois Cauvin. After immigrating to the U.S. he attended P.S. 221 Toussaint L’Ouverture, Winthrop Junior High, Lafayette HS, & Port Richmond HS in Staten Island. After graduating, he attended NY City College of Technology before completing his degree at Florida’s Southeastern Academy with a degree focused on Travel and Hospitality. Early in his career with The Leading Hotels of the World to Command Airways and then Air Canada, Pedro Sr. has always been in the service of people. However, he found his gift was best served in faith, in God, and in the acceptance of Jesus Christ as his lord and savior. After having been baptized at Baraica Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY — he went on to lead Men’s Ministry, as well as play an active role in both his Baraica Baptist Church and New Life Church communities. Along with his wife, Pedro Sr. enjoyed returning to Haiti on mission trips to support.
Pedro Sr.’s jovial, loyal, and faithful spirit will echo for many generations, and he will be missed by many. For those that grew up with him in Brooklyn he is remembered as the glue that kept his friends together filled with laughter. To those that knew him in Concord he is remembered as a faithful servant who used laughter and sincerity to keep everyone close. To his sons he is known lovingly as “Pops.”
The Fequiere family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, June 17, 2022, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg, 12115 University City Blvd., Harrisburg, NC 28075. It will be webcasted at the following link: http://video.ibm.com/channel/drygeSYpxX7 It will start at 5:50 PM EST. The funeral service will be on Saturday, June 18th at 11:00 am at New Life Church in Concord, 4160 Zion Church Road, Concord, NC, officiated by Rev. Lawson Whitson. A burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum in Kannapolis.
