Peggy Hatley

Peggy "Mas" Brown Herlocker Hatley, 83 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, October 14, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System-Stanly.

Peggy was born June 13, 1933 in Stanly County, North Carolina to the late Tollie C. Herlocker and Brona Bell Brown Herlocker. She was married in June of 1953 to Claude Lee Hatley until his death in November of 2005. Peggy's sisters Sara Catherine Hinson and Mary Ruth Huneycutt also preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Sunday evening, October 16, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Monday afternoon at 2:00 pm at the Friendship United Methodist Church, 24696 Highway 73 in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Robert "Bob" Cauble. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her son, Danny Lee Hatley and wife Tanya of Albemarle, and daughter Debra Hatley Mauldin and husband Darrell of Albemarle, five grandchildren, Randy Mauldin and wife Meredith, Eric Mauldin and wife Lauren, Amy H. Frick and husband Jamie, Matthew Hatley and fiancé Lindsey and Ashley Fischer and husband Drew, four great-grandchildren, Trent, Lilly, Mason and Jordan and many special nieces and nephews.

"Mas" as she was lovingly known, was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and worked in the art department for Allison Manufacturing. The family would like to say thanks to the staff at Trinity Place and the ICU department at Stanly Regional for the exceptional care, love and concern shown to Peggy " Mas" during her stay.

Memorial contributions in Peggy's memory may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church, 24696 NC 73 Highway, Albemarle NC 28001.
