Peggy Helms

Peggy Ann Starnes Helms, 66, of Concord, passed away on Thursday, March 15, at Carolinas Medical Center - Northeast. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. The funeral service, officiated by Reverends Don Burleyson and Don Horne, will be held at Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church, 3006 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kannapolis, NC on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a 30 minute state. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. At other times the family will meet at her home, 4001 Amsbury Road, Concord. Peggy was born on July 8, 1945, to the late James Arthur Starnes and the late Bessie Lee Maness Starnes. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Cornelius Helms; a brother, James Arthur Starnes, Jr.; and a sister, Shirley Lefler. She is survived by two sons, Richard Helms and his wife, Amy of Concord and Chris Helms and his wife, Tammy of Oakboro; a brother, Kenneth Wayne Starnes of Concord; a sister, Esther Threadgill of Concord; and six grandchildren, Brittani, Brittany, Baili, Brynden, Phillip and Morgen. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Helms family.
