Peggy Huneycutt

Peggy Drye Huneycutt passed away peacefully on Thursday March 18, 2021 at her home.

Peggy was born May 30,1942 to the late Charlie Spurgeon Drye and Esther Springer Drye. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles M. Huneycutt; brothers, Ralph Drye, Mitchell Drye, Richard Drye, and Bill Drye; and grandsons, Billy Stancil Jr. and Joshua Stancil.

Peggy was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stanfield.

Peggy is survived by her children, Mark Huneycutt (Rexann) of Locust, Sandy Huneycutt (Nancy Johnson) of Knoxville TN, Lisa Stancil (Billy Sr.) of Stanfield and Bonnie Gilbert (John) of Locust; grandchildren, Emily Bruns (Robert) of Augusta GA, Zachary Huneycutt (Madison) of Red Cross, NC, Heather Stancil of Stanfield, Elijah Lee of Albemarle, Katie Huneycutt of Washington DC and Seth Huneycutt of Knoxville TN; brothers, Leonard Drye (Christine) of Stanfield and Benny Drye (Denise) of Albemarle; sisters, Lillie Tucker of Stanfield and Diana Furr (Richard) of Stanfield; and sister-in-law, Gerry Drye of Stanfield.

The Family wishes to thank Hospice of Stanly and Uwharrie for their care especially Brandi Burleson, Crystal Thomas, Sherri Cranford, and Kristen Furr.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made in Peggy’s memory to Hospice of Stanly and Uwharrie, 960 North First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001 or to First Baptist Church, PO Box 279, Stanfield, NC 28163.

Services will be Private.
