Peggy Lewis
November 23, 1933 — April 18, 2016
Peggy Ann Hopkins Lewis, 82 years of age, of Mount Pleasant, NC, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 with her family at her side.
Mrs. Lewis was born November 23, 1933 in Concord, NC to the late Lewis Thomas Hopkins and the late Pearl Ervin Hopkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Everette Lewis; step daughter, Linda Lewis Donahue; as well as her sisters, Grace Riggs and Jane Shoe.
Survivors include her daughter, Julia Lewis Clark and husband, Lee of Mount Pleasant, NC; grandson, Brian Clark; granddaughter, Alicia Clark; step granddaughter, Lisa Donahue; step grandson, Joseph Donahue; step great grandsons, Ryan and Reece Donahue; and brother in law, James Riggs.
Peggy attended Evans Business College in Concord after she graduated from Winecoff High School. She worked for W.S. Bogle Attorney for 26 years, then retired from CMC-NorthEast after several years in Patient Accounts Services. Peggy loved her family dearly, and enjoyed cooking and embroidery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm, Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. A graveside funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm at Herrins Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, NC, officiated by Pastor Gary Morris.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Montgomery County.
