Jesus called Peggy Ann Cole McCachren, 79, into his presence and her heavenly home on Sunday, June 20, 2010. She was born on June 6, 1931 in Moore County. Mrs. McCachren was a member of Harrisburg Presbyterian Church where she was active in the women’s circle number two and received the Honorary Life Membership. She was a retired nurse from the former Cabarrus Memorial Hospital and graduated from Cabarrus Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Harrisburg Presbyterian Church on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 11:00 am with the Rev. John Muse and Dr. James Sample officiating. Internment will follow in the church cemetery. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dixon Blair McCachren III; father, Richard Malcolm Cole; mother, Thelma Thomas Cole; brother, Roger Lee Cole. She is survived by son, Norman C. McCachren and wife, Paula, of Harrisburg; daughter, Amy McCachren Hill and husband, Dean, of Harrisburg; brothers, Billy M. Cole and wife, Betty, of West End, Bobby Cole and wife, Rosemary, of Roseburg, OR, Richard Oscar Cole and wife, Marsha, of Winston Salem; sisters, Joyce Hendrix and husband, Bobby, of Red Springs, Kay Hacker and husband, Bruce, of Marietta, GA, Lynn Pike and husband, Gerald, of Siler City; grandchildren, Bryan McCachren, Zackery McCachren, Brooks Hill, Garrett Hill, and Kristin Hill. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or Harrisburg Presbyterian Church, 4815 Hwy 49 South, Harrisburg, NC 28075-8480.
