Pegi Dannelly

Pegi Parker Dannelly, 75, of Charlotte, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at Novant Presbyterian Main in Charlotte.

Pegi was born October 2, 1946 in Metter, GA to the late L.O. and Margaret Parker.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Richard "Dicky" Parker.

Pegi graduated from Metter High School, where she was a cheerleader and loved being part of the "Class of '64 Girls."  She attended University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), before meeting Bruce at Georgia Southern.  Christmas was Pegi's favorite time of year.  She built her Christmas village out of Legos.  Pegi loved decorating her Christmas trees with her handmade and Hallmark ornaments.  Pegi was the past PTA president of Garinger High School and was awarded the Oak Leaf Award in 1990.  She also enjoyed snow-skiing and was a Braves fan.   Pegi loved traveling, especially to Aruba with Bruce and Peanut.  In Aruba, if Pegi wasn't sun-bathing or "winning" BINGO by the pool, you could find her shopping with Sunny, her personal jeweler, at Kay's Fine Jewelry.  She loved her pet Chihuahua, "Peanut," and cat, "Mr. Kitty."  She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed receiving art from Emma and building Legos together.  She proudly watched Cameron march for the Hickory Ridge Blue Regiment.  Most of all, Pegi loved taking care of her Brucie.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 56 years, Bruce Dannelly of Charlotte; daughter, Dana Dannelly Arden and husband, Charles, of Harrisburg; son, Robert Dannelly, Jr. and wife, Suzanne, of Mooresville; sister, Penny Parker of Metter, GA; grandchildren, Cameron Burnett of Appalachian State University, Emma Dannelly of Mooresville, Caroline Arden of Wilmington, and Katie Arden of East Carolina University; and numerous extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:45 pm, Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. Pegi's "Celebration of Life" service will be on Saturday at 4:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Elder Lee Price, Pegi's cousin.  The memorial service will be webcast: https://video.ibm.com/channel/drygeSYpxX7 Pegi will be laid to rest at Lake Cemetery, GA.  A graveside service will be held at a later date.
