Percival King, 83, of Concord, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021.
Percival was born August 8, 1937 in Kingston, Jamaica to the late James and Edna King. He was also preceded in death by brother, Hevral.
Percival retired from Philip Morris after a long career as a mechanical engineer. He was a devoted husband, father and Christian who faithfully served at Multiply Church, formerly cfa church. Percival enjoyed hiking in the mountains, working in his garden, playing dominoes, and traveling. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed being surrounded by them.
Survivors include wife of 49 years, Merlie Gopie King; daughter, Annet (Doug) Yawn; son, Tony (Teresa) King; daughter, Carol (Vince) Nash; son, Mike (Audrey) King; son, Ricky King; brother, George (Lucille) King; sister, Alice (Berthram) Chutkan; sister, Delores (Noel) Campbell; brother, Roy King; grandchildren, Kevin Bhulai, Chelsea Anglin, Megan Yawn, Ashleigh King, Christina King, Zachary King, Nathaniel Steward and Brandee Perkins; 4 great-grandchildren; aunt, Violet Sobha; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 31, 2021, from 10:00 am - 11:45 am at Multiply Church (Suite 15), Concord. The funeral in celebration of Percival's life will follow at 12 noon, officiated Rev. Dr. Douglas Witherup. Percival will be laid to rest at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, immediately following the church service.
