Phelia Drye

Phelia "Phyll" Mae Furr Drye, 80 years of age, of , passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at her residence in Concord. "Phyll" was born December 16, 1932 in to the late Cleve Monroe Furr and the late Vadie Martha McClellan Furr . She was also preceded in death by second husband, Clarence Drye, and her first husband, Dean Humphrey Elliott, brother, Dewey Furr, brother, Tony Furr, brother, Donald Furr, sister, Raymel Canaday. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm, Monday, July 1, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home - Concord. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home - Concord Chapel officiated by Rev Steve Pennington and Rev. Chris Baker. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park - Kannapolis at Hwy. 29 N, Kannapolis. Raised in Cabarrus County, "Phyll" managed the Concord Hotel for 30 years. A lifetime member of the DAV Auxiallary, she loved to play bingo and travel. Her favorite hobby was spending time with her family. Survivors include daughter, Debra Sossoman of Concord, NC, daughter, Shelia Elliott of Concord, NC, daughter, Marilyn Smith of Concord, NC, sister, Geraldine McDonald of Concord, NC, brother, Edd Furr (Mary) of Concord, NC, brother, William Furr of Concord, NC, granddaughter, Denise (Ernie) Athey of Salisbury, NC, granddaughter, Christina Smith of Concord, NC, great-granddaughter, Shalee Athey. "Phyll" had many special friends she loved to spend time with. The family appreciates you and wishes to give special thanks to Cabarrus County Hospice and the staff at CMCNE.
