Phyllis Coley

Phyllis Simpson Coley, age 63 of 639 Edgemont Street, Albemarle, passed away on December 15, 2009 at her home. Born in Stanly County on July 23, 1946, Phyllis was a daughter of the late Hugh Robert Simpson and the late Mary Frone Burris Simpson. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Bob Simpson. She is survived by a granddaughter, Summer Honeycutt Dennis and husband Johnathan of the home; one son, Phillip Eugene Honeycutt of Albemarle; brother Mahlon Simpson of Norwood; and sisters Bert Liles of Locust; Jean Aldridge of Oakboro and Mamie Coley of Albemarle; step grandchildren, Mallory Coley and Jennifer, Jessica and James Archer all of Albemarle. She was a faithful member of Prospect Baptist Church as long as her health permitted and was a past Sunday school teacher. She was employed by Albemarle Glass. The family will receive friends at her home, 639 Edgemont Street, anytime. A memorial service will be held at Prospect Baptist Church Friday at 2pm. Rev. Stony Benfield and Rev. Sonny Simpson will officiate. Family graveside services will be conducted.
