Phyllis Joan Corn, 84, of 3700 Taylor Glen Lane, Concord, NC, formerly of Fairfax, VA passed away May 19, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Corn was born March 3, 1926 in Middletown, Indiana to the late Orran Fadely and the late Irene Hoover Fadely. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She was also an avid bridge player. She was a member of Crossway Community Church. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Colonel Clifford D. Corn USMC; daughter-Kim and husband Steve Baumgartner of Charlotte; son-David and wife Pat Corn of Winston Salem and son Steven B. Corn of Fairfax, Va; sisters-June Lennon of Middletown, Indiana, Marilyn Montgomery of New Castle, Indiana; grandchildren-Hilary and husband Greg Ross, Michelle Baumgartner, Allison Baumgartner, Katie Corn, Caroline Mabe, Kate Mabe; and great grandson-Zachary Ross. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2010 at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be officiated by the Reverend Larry Malament. Interment will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery.
