Phyllis Furr

Phyllis Ann Carter Furr, 74 years of age, of Kannapolis, NC passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Phyllis was born February 9, 1943 in Union County, NC to the late John Edward Carter and the late Ollie L. Fink Carter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sawyer; brother, Johnny Wayne Carter; and sister, Barbara Jean Jordan.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Curlee and husband Tommy; son, Gary Owens; daughter, Wanda Eudy and husband Ronnie; daughter, Kimberly French; grandchildren, Barry Curlee and wife Carrie; Tommy Curlee, Jr. and wife Brandy; Kim Curlee; Brad Owens and wife Melissa; Brandy Owens and husband Chris; Tiffany Howle; Robin Rodriguez and husband Rafael; Josh Blake and wife Karrie; Misti Vanhoy and husband Terry; Tad Eudy; Amber Eudy; Karrie Benedict and husband Brandon; Christopher Hartsell and wife Maranda; 22 great grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brother, Danny Carter; sister, Peggy Bentley and husband Darrell; sister, Debbie Coffey; sister, Mary Herrin; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord, officiated by Rev. Mark Clontz of Bethel United Methodist Church in Midland. Burial will follow at the Rocky River Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
