Phyllis Gillespie

Phyllis Huller Gillespie, 61, of Concord, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022.

Phyllis was born September 1, 1960, in Concord to the late Alfred and Betty Huller.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Smith.

Phyllis was a lifelong resident of Concord and enjoyed eating at fish camps.  Most of all, Phyllis loved the Lord, the Atlanta Braves, and her family.  She enjoyed walking on the beach and seeing lighthouses.  Phyllis was an avid fisherman and a wonderful cook.  We'll miss her homemade ice cream.  Even though she was wheelchair-bound for many years, Phyllis now walks with Jesus because she put her faith in Him as her Savior.

Survivors include beloved husband of 44.5 years, David Gillespie; son, Jason Gillespie, and wife, Crystal, of CT; son, Ben Gillespie, and wife, Steph, of IN; son, Beau Gillespie of Concord; sister, Becky Persons of Salisbury; grandchildren, Noelle, Levi, Mason, Grant, Mallory, Dani, and Zachary; nephew, Justin; and nieces, Shannon and Megan.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 12:45 pm, Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Heritage Baptist Church, 274 Honeycutt Drive, Concord.  The funeral service in celebration of Phyllis' life will follow at 1:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Terry Cruse.  Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Harrisburg.
