PJ Higgins of Harrisburg, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center – Northeast. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Tony Biles will follow in the Hartsell Funeral Home chapel at 2:00 p.m. PJ was born on March 19, 1949 in Ainsworth, NE, to Alta June Nelson Kurtz and the late Dr. James Stanley Kurtz, Jr. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Ann Bibeau. She is survived by her husband, Harry Rico Higgins, Jr.; a brother, James S, Kurtz, III and wife, Kathy Joyce of Jacksonville, TX; a sister, Christine Coombs and husband, Steve of Columbia, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
