R.A. Plummer

R.A. Plummer went to be with the Lord on July 29th, 2023 at St. Andrews Assisted Living in Concord.

He was born on June 22, 1932 to Reese A. Plummer and Nettie Auten Plummer. He was preceded in death by his parents; as well as his wife, Sarah Maxine and son, Robert "Bobby" Plummer and also brothers Arthur, Dewey, Bill and Hubert.

R.A. is survived by his son, Richard Plummer and wife Deborah of Rockwell, NC; grandson Bryan Plummer and wife Angie of Forest City, NC; granddaughter Bree P. Sorrell and husband James "Chip" Sorrell of Concord, NC; and great grandson Sammy Sorrell.

R.A. proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Pilot Freight Carriers in Kernersville, NC.  He was a lifelong member of Southside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.  R.A. enjoyed traveling with the church, going to the beach and going out to eat.  He will be truly missed by all those who knew him and loved him.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm - 2:00pm on Wednesday, August 2nd, at Southside Baptist Church, 561 Union Cemetery Rd., Concord, NC 28027.  Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00pm, officiated by Pastor Joey Morrison.  Mr. Plummer will then be laid to rest in West Concord Cemetery with military honors.
