Biography Rachel Frances Hartsell, 94 years of age, of Locust, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Royal Park Rehabilitation and Health Center in Matthews.
Rachel was born April 19, 1922 in Stanly County to the late John Avery Hartsell and the late Eva Frances Hartsell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Buford Lee Hartsell; sisters, Effie Smith and Ruth Osborne; and brothers, Paul, Jimmy, and Joe Hartsell.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The graveside service, officiated by Rev. Jim Lytle, will follow at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Cemetery, 320 South Central Ave., Locust. At other times, the family will be gathering at her home.
She is survived by her son, Randall Hartsell and partner, Ronald Spake of Charlotte.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
