Rachel Nance

Rachel Beatrice Nance, 87, of Midland, NC, passed away August 27, 2009 at Universal Health Care, Concord. Visitation will be Sunday, August 30, from 6:00 until 8:00 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. Services will be held at Bethel United Methodist, Monday, August 31, at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Mark Clontz. Rachel was born in Cabarrus County June 28, 1922 to Charlie Burwell McAnulty and Elsie Love McAnulty who preceded her in death. Survivors include sons; Fred Robbie Thompson and Scott Thompson, both of Midland, daughter, Kelly Thompson Knight and husband, Jeff; brother, Rayford and wife, Colleen. Deceased are son, Charles Thompson; granddaughter, Lara, great grandson, Brandon; and sister, Frances Walker. Mrs. Nance enjoyed teaching Sunday School to 2 & 3 year olds, UMYF Leader and Girl Scout Leader. The family will meet at the home of daughter, Kelly T. Knight, 3301 Hwy 24/27 E., Midland.
