Rachel Tucker

Rachel Louise Tucker, 85, of Red Cross, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC.

Mrs. Tucker was born August 8, 1934 in Stanly County, NC to the late Henry G. Whitley and the late Marie Whitley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Blane Tucker and son, Roger Blane Tucker.

Mrs. Tucker was a long-standing member of Red Cross Baptist Church. She worked as a seamstress a majority of her life. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include son, Ricky (Heather) Tucker of Red Cross, daughter, Linda T. (Bob Carey) Douglas of Red Cross, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and Katy, her furry companion.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Red Cross Baptist Church in Oakboro, NC. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm at the church officiated by Rev. Jessie Herring and Pastor Charlie Littlejohn. Burial will follow at the Red Cross Baptist Church Cemetery at 112 W. Red Cross Rd., Oakboro, NC.
