Raeford Rushing

Raeford Junior Rushing, 86 years of age, of Monroe, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Hospice of Union County in Monroe.

Mr. Rushing was born March 5, 1931 in Union County to the late Vance Fanander and Mary Simpson Rushing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lee Rushing Medlin.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 29, 2017 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 1:00 PM, at Antioch Baptist Church, 6223 Love Mill Rd., Monroe with Rev. Arval Rushing and Rev. George Gouge officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Raeford is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mildred Tarlton Rushing; brothers, William Fanander Rushing and wife, Lucille, Atlas J. Hue Rushing and wife Belva, Hubert Norman Rushing and wife Sara, Larry Vance Rushing and wife Carolyn; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Rushing family.
