Ralph Eudy

Ralph Homer Eudy, 86, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 6 at Carolinas Medical Center Stanly surrounded by his family.

Ralph was born August 5, 1930 to the late Millard Levi and Gathie Almond Eudy of Stanly County, NC. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, James, Ervin, Cletus, Ernest (Satch), Charlie Eudy; and sisters, Remell Martin and Carrie McIllwaine.

The family will receive friends at Lakeview Baptist Church Family Life Center on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation in the church officiated by Rev. Tab Whitley. Burial will be at Stanly Memorial Gardens, 2001 East Main St., Albemarle, NC 28001.

Ralph proudly served his country as a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of the VFW Post 2908. He retired from Wiscassett Mills and Britthaven/Bethany Woods. He worked as a Scout Master for Troop 50 of Boy Scouts of America where he was awarded the Silver Beaver Award for his outstanding service. Ralph loved fishing, going to the beach and spending time with his family. Ralph was an active member of Lakeview Baptist Church, Albemarle for 56 years where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, Trustee, and a member of various committees.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Marie Barbee Eudy, of the home; five children, Debbie Doby (Bobby), Terry Eudy, Ronnie Eudy (Joyce), Susie Austin (Randy), and Greg Eudy (Leslie), and a special sister/daughter Doris Eudy (Jerry C.). Ralph and Marie are blessed with 15 grandchildren: Cindy Hoffman (Todd), Chip Eudy, Craig Eudy (Michelle), Jill Eudy, Andrea Russell (Isaac), Erin Doby, Neal Eudy (Jessica), Charlie Austin (Barbara Anne), Phillip Eudy, Kristopher Austin, Brooke Cannon (Dustin), Lindsey Garner (Robert), Lane Eudy (Ashley), Bradley Eudy, Ryan Eudy; and 16 great-grandchildren. Other family members include brother, Floyd Eudy (Martha), and sister Oaksie Cole (Ronnie).

The family would like to give a special Thank You to the third floor nurses at CMC-Stanly and the nurses and doctor of Hospice of Stanly & the Uwharrie for the kindness shown to our family during this time.
