Ralph Smith

Ralph Dewey Smith, Sr., age 83, of Concord, passed away on September 21, 2015 at Caremoor Retirement Center.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be on Thursday September 24, 2015 at 11:00 am in Hartsell Funeral Home's Chapel, officiated by Rev. Richard Wilson. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

Dewey was born April 22, 1932 to the late Allen Elmer Smith and the late Ida Marie Harris Smith. In addition to his parents, he was also proceeded in death by his wife of 64 years, Peggy Ann Wensil Smith; grandson, Christopher Lee Leatherman; granddaughter, Kala Marie Martin; three brothers, Claude Smith, Everette Smith and Dick Smith; sister, Louise Smith.

He is survived by his son, Ralph Dewey Smith, Jr. (Linda); three daughters, Angela Leatherman (George), Janet Vance (Curtis), and Beverly Martin (Bobby); seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; his brother, Buck Smith; two sisters, Sarah Ritch and Beulah Williamson (Walter).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Foursquare Church, 282 Linden Ave SW, Concord, NC 28027-6801.
