Ramona Whitley

Ramona  Whitley, 88, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.

Mrs. Whitley was born July 23, 1930 to the late Oscar Lee Speight Sr. and the late Ruby Evans Speight. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ellen Morgan; brothers, Oscar "Bill" Speight, Jr., Kendrick Speight, Eugene "Gene" Craven Speight.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm, Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home - Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Adam Hatley. Burial will conclude at the Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.

Survivors include: husband, Junius Clyde Whitley of Albemarle, NC, son, Ronnie Whitley of Albemarle, NC, daughter, Donna Whitley Sides and husband Edwin of Albemarle, NC, son, Phil Whitley and wife Kathryn of Marietta, Ga; brother, James Speight of Red Cross, NC, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
