Raymond Gerald Wolfrey, lovingly known as "FatMan G," passed away peacefully at his home in Charlotte, North Carolina, on November 13, 2024, at the age of 69. Born on September 20, 1955, in Petersburg, Virginia, RG lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication.
A proud Marine Veteran, he served his country with honor and valor. Outside of his service, he was an avid fisherman, a passionate motorcycle rider who was always seeking the thrill of the open road on his beloved Harley Davidson. His life was a testament to hard work, loyalty, and the joy of family. He was a man who always put others before himself and was never a stranger to anyone new. He generously gave much of his time to those who needed it the most, embodying the spirit of kindness and compassion. He was never one to turn down cake at eight and always made sure to share the love if you were near. Being a PawPaw was something that brought him great joy. His grandson Ox or little man as he called him, was always one to bring a smile to his face.
RG's legacy lives on through his loving wife and lifelong soulmate, Tina Conlee Wolfrey; his devoted children, son, Daniel Adam Wolfrey, Joseph Garrity and daughter, Stacey Marie Shoope, Dale Raymond Shoope; his cherished grandson, Oxlade James Shoope, and expected grandson, Stetson Ray Shoope. He is also remembered fondly by his close friends, John, Buck, Mike, Alan, the entire "Rusty Nut Gang," his Pi Phi frat brothers, his Speedway Harley Davidson family, and his Patriot Guard Veteran brothers.
His memory will forever be a source of strength and inspiration for those who knew and loved him.
